Tobacco
  • 2 in 3 mouth cancer cases are linked to smoking

Alcohol

HPV

  • Increasingly being associated with mouth cancer

Poor Diet
  • Poor diet is a contributory factor in up to 50% of mouth cancer cases
  • A good diet can reduce risk
  • Studies have shown that vegetables, fruit, Vitamin C & calcium,
  • Green  Tea, Caffeinated coffee all help reduce risk
Chewing Tobacco
  • Has twice as much nicotine as an average cigarette
  • Increases risk by as much as 4 times
  • Can cause heart problems and raise blood pressure
  • One can releases as much nicotine in your body as 60 cigarettes
Environmental / Secondary Smoke
  • Is a probable cause of mouth cased  for 15 years of more
