Everyone loves a sweet treat but hates tooth ache so here are our top tips for a tooth trouble-free Easter Break!
- Try
to restrict eating Easter Eggs to mealtimes. Chewing produces saliva which helps neutralise acid, protect tooth enamel and fight tooth decay. - Drink a glass of water after eating sweet treats. This helps wash away the sugars that cling to teeth and tap water normally has fluoride for tooth protection.
- Do not succumb to temptation and have one last treat just before bed! Wait at least half an hour after eating sugary foods and brushing teeth, to protect your teeth enamel.
- And finally, don’t forget to brush your teeth just because it’s the Easter Holidays! Brush with a fluoride toothpaste twice a day for at least two minutes.
