Why don’t my teeth look like they used to?
Teeth age, just like the rest of us! It’s a sad fact that with the years, our teeth begin to look older. Here’s why:
- colour changes – usually due to pigmentation in food and drink, the effect of tobacco, or damage
- enamel wears thin – enamel reflects light so teeth look shinier and brighter when it’s pristine
- teeth move – the lower front teeth especially may shift position through wear and bone loss

Step1: Check your home oral hygiene routine is up to scratch. Set a timer for two minutes when you clean your teeth at least twice a day. Be sure to use floss and interdental brushes, and have a go with a tongue scraper. It’s worth investing in an electric toothbrush too.

Your dentist can make up custom-fitted trays that will hold the whitening fluid evenly against the surfaces of your teeth while preventing leakage onto the gums and soft tissue. There’s a noticeable result after just three weeks.
