1. Fact: At least 95% of tooth decay is avoidable.

2. Fact: Tooth decay is the major reason for child hospital admissions.
3. Fact: Children can see a dentist at no expense to their parents or guardians.
These are three statements worth thinking about!
SpaDental Plymouth and SpaDental Whitchurch are supporting a national drive to encourage babies, children and teens to visit the dentist.
If you’re in the South West of Devon, or in the Shropshire-Cheshire border region, we are currently accepting under 18’s as new NHS patients.
There’s no need for children to be on a lengthy waiting list.
To register a child as a new patient, a parent or guardian simply needs to contact the practice to make an appointment.
We recommend that babies visit the dentist as soon as their first tooth has come through, and children should visit a dentist every six months. By learning effective oral hygiene methods, our emphasis on preventive care saves children from unnecessary and uncomfortable treatments.
With half-term coming up, now is an excellent time to organise a visit for your children to see the dentist.
During half term we organise special Children’s Days. These are days when we prioritise appointments for children. Some of our regulars like to come on these special days. And we’d like to see some new children too!
- Tuesday 29th May is Children’s Day at SpaDental Whitchurch
- Wednesday 30th May is Children’s Day at SpaDental Plymouth
If you’d like to take this opportunity, you can easily make a child’s appointment at:
Here are a few comments from parents about our dental care for children:
“They are excellent with my 3 children who thankfully absolutely love going to the dentist. I highly recommend this dental practice.”
“So happy I found this dentist. My children are also very relaxed at coming here.”
“Very happy. Friendly staff and Dentist that put me and my children at ease.”
“Excellent service. So friendly and go out of their way to make myself and my children feel comfortable whilst here. My children love going to the dentist.”
Calling all children! Remember that teenagers need regular dental appointments too.
Don’t let toothache wreck their exam results! Make an appointment for your teen to see a dentist too!
