Spadental Whitchurch is helping children’s dental health in Shropshire. We believe it’s important!
We think children’s dental health matters!
Good habits learned early make a difference! Children learn good oral hygiene at home. But they also need to get used to going to a dentist for check-ups. It’s pretty traumatic when a child’s first experience of a dentist is because of an accident or, even worse, tooth decay.
Because 95% of tooth decay is avoidable, a good tooth cleaning regime can help a child have a healthy mouth for life. This really cuts down the cost of expensive dental treatment later. It also helps children grow up with a confident smile.
Please bring your children to us! The younger the better!
We hold regular Children’s Days when we prioritise appointments for children. The atmosphere in the surgery is friendly and inviting. Our team take time to help children feel comfortable and relaxed. Give us a call on 01948 664149 if you’d like to learn more or make an appointment.
The facts of the problem:
- 12% of 3 year olds have tooth decay.
- 25% of 5 year olds have tooth decay.
- Earlier symptoms of tooth decay in children are often untreated.
- Tooth decay is the most common reason for hospital admission in children under 10.
The information is from Public Health England, and their page was updated in February 2018.
Our recommendations for children’s appointments:
- Babies should visit the dentist after the first tooth comes through, and before turning a year old.
- Young children should get used to visiting the dentist before they have an accident or problem.
- Everyone should see the dentist every six months, or as often as the dentist recommends.
SpaDental Whitchurch, is currently able to register new NHS patients under 18.
- Parents/guardians simply need to call the practice on: 01948 664149
- Or make an appointment online.
We should be able to arrange your child’s appointment within a month.
