September 2024 update – please note: We feel proud that we were able to offer the Armed Forces Covenant Plan but it has been replaced with the SpaDental Membership Plan. It’s the best value plan we have ever offered. We recommend it to all patients seeking regular, cost-effective preventive care. You can read more here.
It is with great pleasure and pride that SpaDental Plymouth supports Armed Forces personnel.
As everyone who lives in Plymouth knows, our city has a lengthy and proud connection with the armed forces. At SpaDental Plymouth, many of our staff and patients have come to live here because of a connection with the services.
At SpaDental Plymouth we love to serve.
Working in the health sector is our own service to our community. And we love it! It’s wonderful to be able to help people to smile confidently and happily every day.
Moreover, our team has strong links to the armed services too:
- Charlotte’s father served in the Army. Charlotte Murie is one of our trainee dental nurses.
- Kim’s son is currently serving in the Army. Kim Newton is one of our reception team.
- Zoe’s father served in the Navy. Zoe Williams is our dental hygienist.
- Alex’s fiancé is in the Navy. Alex Ward is a dental nurse who regularly fills in at the practice.
- Heather’s husband is currently serving in the Army. Heather Cresswell is our treatment coordinator and business development manager. Heather herself was in the Military Wives Choir that held the Christmas number 1 spot in 2011. As well as experiencing the joy of singing in the Royal Albert Hall, the choir was able to donate over £500,000 to the Royal British Legion and the SSAFA.
SpaDental Plymouth supports families who serve the country.
When Plymouth hosted the National Armed Forces, Prince Edward, the Prime Minister and other VIPS for the signing of the Covenant, Heather’s son was chosen to sign on behalf of the children of Plymouth. Since that June day in 2012, public and private support for the covenant has grown. SpaDental supports Armed Forces families by helping with access to quality dental care.
SpaDental Plymouth supports Armed Forces in two key areas:
Access to dental care:
One obstacle for service families can be access to dental care. Moving around is a fact of life in the armed forces. It can happen that as soon as the family gets to the top of a waiting list for NHS dental care, then it’s time to move on again.
This is where a reasonably priced dental plan can be helpful. Members of the plan make monthly payments to cover the cost of routine appointments and can also benefit from discounted restorative treatments.
Financial assistance:
The SpaDental Armed Forces Plan is a monthly payment plan that helps to spread the cost of routine dental care over the year. It also includes a discounted rate for preventive and restorative treatments.
