SpaDental Plymouth team at home

For us all, patients and staff alike, we haven’t been spending our time as we’d expected! Here’s a snippet of what a few of the Plymouth team at home are getting up to.

A common theme is caring – for family member or others in the community. As you know our staff from your visits to the practice, we don’t think that will come as a surprise!

We’re very much looking forward to a time when we are able to treat patients face-to-face again. Meanwhile, please keep brushing!

Words from a few of the Plymouth team at home:

From Zoe our Dental Hygienist:

“Gardening, walking, CPD, home-schooling 😳, shopping for elderly, peacekeeper 😂❤️”
Zoe Williams

From Sammie, our lead nurse:

“I’m now known as the demon teacher apparently! And there I was thinking I was acing home-schooling 🤷‍♀️ We have been exploring our local areas on different walks each day too . It’s surprising the little walks and woods you find 🌳🌲 Hope you are all well xx”
Samantha McGuire

Editor’s note: Sammie is  the newest addition to the team. She was just about to begin at SpaDental Plymouth when the coronavirus lockdown began, so we’re very much looking forward to getting to know her better as soon as we can all be back at work!

Dental nurse Leah in the practice taking your calls and helping you get the best advice.

From Kath, one of our dental nurses

“Painting – interiors and exterior
Power washing
Shopping for Dad who was 96 in April
Gardening and planting xx”
Kath Wotton

From Leah, one of our dental nurses

“Since being furloughed I have had exciting things happen!
I sat my oral health education exam which I passed. I also got engaged during lock down and spent time sorting out my new house that I moved into 4 weeks prior.

Now I’ve returned to work where I am triaging our emergency patients, offering them advice within my skill set and what the dentist tells me to advise regarding AAA. I am now also advising patients how to keep their mouths clean during these uncertain times using my new qualification. XX”
Leah Finnemore

From Maria,  one of our dental nurses

“While on lock down I have been kept  busy by  volunterring  delivering books shopping  and jigsaws to the old and infirm in my area. I have also been baking a lot to  while away the time and then giving most away to friends,  family and elderly neighbours so I do not gain weight !!

My husband is on the nursing team at Derriford so we are  trying to stay as safe as possible and remain positive,  as this is a very stressful time for all staff at the hospital as you can imagine . Also 2 days a week I visit my friends husband on a lunchtime / welfare check , he has a terminal illness and she is a nurse , so I wear my PPE , make him lunch a hot drink and ensure he has had his medication.

Along with all that I have been doing some isopharm courses and enquiring about others. Oh, and I have taken up yoga,  PHEW !

Stay safe all and hopefully we will see each other again soon.  maria XX”
