For a kiss that’s memorable for the right reasons!
Valentine’s Day date? It’s time to freshen up your kiss! No-one wants lion’s breath*!
- My breath smells bad. What can I do?
- Fresh breath clinches deals.
- What is tongue scraping all about?
Very often more attention to our teeth can make breath smell better. It just takes a bit of time and planning. That’s because often bad breath begins in the mouth. It’s caused by bacteria that get trapped in there. Your oral hygienist, or therapist, and a few products can help with that!
Here’s a few tips to freshen up your kiss:
- clean your teeth at least twice a day to tackle bacteria
- floss between your teeth,
- use an interdental brush
- clean your tongue
- drink lots of water
- try an anti-bacterial mouth wash
- eat more vegetables, especially the crunchy ones, and avoid eating, drinking or smoking smelly stuff
- chew sugar-free gum which has saliva-producing xylitol
- and if you’re out for dinner, eat your parsley or mint garnish
This is the best advice to freshen up your kiss:
Check with your practice to see if there’s a vacancy for a direct access appointment. (Note: though we try to see people as soon as possible in dental emergencies, this is the sort of appointment that usually needs to be planned in advance).
- Make an appointment to see your practice hygienist or dental therapist for a scale and polish, as well as oral hygiene advice.
And here’s the second best advice:
