Meet Group Compliance Co-ordinator: Charlotte Murie

Group Compliance Co-ordinator Charlotte Murie began her career in Oral Health as a trainee Dental Nurse with SpaDental. With hard work and dedication, she has moved from one new challenge to another.

Here Charlotte describes how working with SpaDental has helped her career progress.

Charlotte recalls highlights of her career so far

“Six years ago, I embarked on a journey that would shape my career and personal growth in ways I had never imagined. I was eager to dive into the healthcare field, so I joined SpaDental Southwest as a trainee dental nurse. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of a fulfilling and dynamic career in dentistry.

When I first started at SpaDental, I was filled with excitement and the Saltash and Plymouth practices soon became my second family. The support I received from my colleagues and supervisors was incredible. They guided me through every step, ensuring that I was not only learning but also thriving in my role. The hands-on experience I gained working with different clinicians was invaluable. Each dentist had their unique approach and style, and I learned to adapt and provide the best support possible. This variety in experience enriched my training and helped me develop a well-rounded skill set.

With the unwavering support of SpaDental, I completed my nursing qualification. This was a significant milestone in my career. I felt a deep sense of accomplishment and gratitude towards the team that had helped me reach this point. But this was just the beginning.

Post-qualification, I found myself at a crossroads, contemplating the various paths my career could take. After much reflection, I decided to pursue the management route. SpaDental continued to support my ambitions, and I was soon promoted to Lead Nurse.

In my role as Lead Nurse, I took on new responsibilities that challenged and excited me. One of the most rewarding aspects was assisting in the recruitment of trainee nurses and taking an active role in their training. It was incredibly fulfilling to give back and support new trainees, just as I had been supported.

I also had the opportunity to introduce new processes in the practice. With the backing of Head Office, we focused on enhancing our compliance levels. The new procedures we implemented ensured that we were not just meeting industry standards but exceeding them. This drive for excellence became a cornerstone of our practice’s ethos.

After a year as Lead Nurse, I was ready for a new challenge. My journey took an exciting turn when I was promoted to Group Compliance Coordinator for SpaDental. In this role, I oversee compliance across our group of practices, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of care and regulatory adherence.

Looking back, I am incredibly proud of my journey with SpaDental. From a trainee dental nurse to Group Compliance Coordinator, the support and opportunities I have received have been instrumental in my growth. I am grateful to be part of an organisation that values its employees and is committed to excellence in dental care.

As I continue in my role, I am excited about the future and the continuous improvement of our practices. SpaDental has not only been a workplace for me but a platform for personal and professional growth, and I look forward to many more years of contributing to our success.”
