Beautiful white fillings by Nader Botros

A well-placed filling can truly be a thing of wonder! In just one appointment, Dentist Nader Botros placed these beautiful white fillings. Using a microscope to conserve as much tooth as possible, and colour matching to perfection, the photographs below show how well-informed use of modern materials and techniques in skilled hands creates stable and aesthetic fillings.

Protecting your teeth

Dentist Nader Botros welcomes new patients in Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye and Tewkesbury.

It is very important for patients to attend regular dental examinations. It is possible for dental decay to take hold yet the patient does not feel any symptoms of pain or even discomfort. Unchecked, the decay develops and thrives, destroying more healthy tooth. The more advanced the decay, the more invasive and costly the treatment needed to restore the tooth.

Conserving your teeth

When a dentist identifies caries in a patients teeth, there is no other option than to remove the infected tissue. Modern technology, however, allows dentists to conserve a lot more tooth than in the days of large amalgam filings and weighty drill pieces. Todays work, especially in skilled hands, is light and minimally intrusive.

In this photograph, you can see two molars and two premolars that need investigation. An xray shows the dentist that both the premolars and one molar have infected dentine lying beneath the enamel. With the eye alone, sometimes caries do not show, and the patient feels no pain. Their appearance looks no more worrying than on the back molar, which has a little surface staining, but is otherwise healthy.

Conservative  dentistry is treatment that conserves as much healthy tooth as possible. In this photograph we can see how the dentist applied a pinky-red detector as a visual guide to help identify the infected tissue to remove. By using caries detector and a microscope, Nader is able to conserve as much healthy tooth as possible, and prepare a surface of healthy tissue to hold the filling.

The final fillings are a work of art. The surface of the teeth sculpted to a custom fit for closing the bite and sufficiently defined gaps between the teeth for flossing and aesthetics. Looking back at the first photograph, you can see how closely the composite fillings resemble the original teeth so they are comfortable and feel natural in the mouth.
