Patient reviews of the Saltash practice

The dentist and dental assistant were great with my children and are always extremely friendly. However the receptionist was so miserable and definitely in the wrong job. Ignored 4 people whilst on the phone even though on hold – didnt even acknowledge we were waiting for 8 minutes. Then practically threw the forms at me without even saying what needed ti be filled in. When i asked for another one as i had 2 children and one sheet [the receptionist] sighed heavily and again threw another one without even making eye contact. The whole waiting room was watching to see how rude [the receptionist] would be to the next person served.

I am in the process of having a plate made so treatment has not yet finished

Treatment has been fine but it’s a pity that staffing is low.

I am a private patient as I have been on the your NHS list for nearly 4yrs now. Luckily so far I have only needed a yearly checkup with dentist and every 6mths with the hygienist.

I have always been satisfied with the treatment I have recieved.

As I leave I always make my next appointment before I go. This last appointment with the hygienist had to be cancelled as she was away. I had no problem with that but was then told the next appointment was a 2mth. wait.

I was told during my treatment that the charges were increasing by a small amount, but on paying nothing was mentioned or was I informed at any time, how much the charge was going up by.

Friendly team, particularly dentist and nurse. Dentist explains what he is doing as he goes along and takes time to talk to you.

I really appreciate how fortunate we are to have access to NHS dental care and the team at Saltash Spa Dental are excellent. The surgery is welcoming, always extremely clean and very well resourced; the receptionists are helpful, welcoming and reassuring. The dental nurses and dentists are all very professional and caring. My dentist is by far the best I have had (and I am mid 50s) giving me information, advice, confidence and care. I choose to have fillings without anaesthetic, and have yet to regret my decision. Considering I have a fear of dentistry stemming from awful childhood experiences, I no longer fear regular attendance. My only concern is how few dentists there are in Cornwall and how many people are not able to access the NHS provided care I have. This seems particularly worrying given the number of dentists who qualify in the UK (and indeed from our local dental school) – where do they all go! Anyway huge thanks to all in the team.

Was in a lot of pain. The dentist seen me at short notice and carried out the necessary treatment in a very professional manner. She was also very considerate and caring.
